What do "roaming" and "long distance" mean?
"Roaming" refers to your physical location when placing a call. "Long distance" refers to the area code you are calling.
Can I keep my existing cell phone number?
Most people can transfer their existing cell phone number to Mobal Freedom. It depends on where you live and who is your old service provider. This service is called 'Number Porting'.
In order for a number port to be succesful:
- The number being transferred must be a cell phone number.
- Do not cancel your number with your old service provider. Your cell number must remain active during the transfer process. Once the number is transferred to Mobal Freedom, it will automatically be disconnected with your old service provider.
- If the number is in a contract, you may be charged an early termination fee by your old service provider.
- When you set up your Mobal Freedom account, make sure your billing information (name, address, etc.) matches the information on your old service provider’s account. You may want to have an old billing statement with you when you set up your new account.
For your convenience, when you choose to port your number at time of purchase, we will email you with a form to collect your details required for the port to occur. This process usually takes between 24-36 hours from completion of the form.

How do I set up voicemail?
- Press and hold the 1 key. Your phone will dial the voicemail number and you will hear voice prompts to guide you through the following steps.
- Press 1 for English or 2 for Spanish.
- Press # to confirm your language choice.
- Enter a passcode and press #. We recommend choosing a 4-6 digit number that is easy to remember.
Select a greeting:
- Press 1 for our standard greeting with your phone number.
- Press 2 for our standard greeting with your name.
- Press 3 to record your own personal greeting.
Once you have selected your greeting, you will be given final reminders, then press 2.
Disconnect.
- Press * (star) to disconnect.

My phone's display reads "Unregistered SIM."
This message "Unregistered SIM" means your phone is not properly active in the cellular system. Please call Mobal's Customer Support team at 1-212-785-5800 and report the problem so we can correct it for you.

When is my billing statement due?
You will be billed for your first months line rental(if applicable) a few days after activating your SIM. You will then be billed on that same day every month for your line rental and the previous months calls usage outside of the inclusive minutes.
When I am billed by Mobal what will appear on my Credit Card statement?
Charges from Mobal will always appear on your card with the reference; "Mobal 212 785 5800". This is our company name and the main customer service phone number so you can contact us via phone for any general queries you may have.

MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service)
Can I send multimedia messages (MMS) using my Mobal Freedom phone?
You can send picture/video messages using your Mobal Freedom cell phone if your phone is capable of taking pictures/video. The Nokia 2730c supports sending picture/video messages. Picture messages can be sent from your Freedom minutes allowance. Picture messages out of your allowance will cost $0.20/message.
Is my phone ready to send MMS messages?
If you wish to send photos or videos from your phone, you will need to ensure that you have set your phone up with the correct settings.
Before you activate your MMS settings you will need to ensure that you have the correct internet settings.

Your provider unlocked your handset for you
Yes you can use the Mobal Freedom service. Most phones you buy from a cell phone provider are locked to their network. But, if you have a GSM 850/1900MHz compatible handset and your provider has unlocked your handset for you, your handset should be compatible.
T-Mobile Handsets
Sorry unless your handset has been unlocked, your handset is not compatible.
Verizon/Nextel/Sprint handsets
Unfortunately your phone will not work as it is not GSM compatible.

Most people can transfer their existing cell phone number to Mobal Freedom. It depends on where you live and who is your old service provider. This service is called 'Number Porting'.
In order for a number port to be succesful:
- The number being transferred must be a cell phone number.
- Do not cancel your number with your old service provider. Your cell number must remain active during the transfer process. Once the number is transferred to Mobal Freedom, it will automatically be disconnected with your old service provider.
- If the number is in a contract, you may be charged an early termination fee by your old service provider.
- When you set up your Mobal Freedom account, make sure your billing information (name, address, etc.) matches the information on your old service provider’s account. You may want to have an old billing statement with you when you set up your new account.
For your convenience, when you choose to port your number at time of purchase, we will email you with a form to collect your details required for the port to occur. This process usually takes between 24-36 hours from completion of the form.
